NEW ORLEANS – Crescent City Sports’ live streaming coverage of high school boys basketball premieres Saturday with the final two games of the 21st edition of the Country Day Classic.

Live coverage from what is always one of the top pre-Christmas events in the metro area will include the third-place game, scheduled for 3 p.m., followed by the 4:30 p.m. championship game. CCS’ Ken Trahan and Bill Gallagher will describe the action.

Saturday’s matchups will feature Sophie B. Wright against Archbishop Rummel in the third-place game, followed by St. Thomas More against Karr for the championship.

Regardless of the matchup, this year’s title game will have a hard act to follow from a year ago, when host Country Day defeated STM 66-62 in four overtimes. Rummel finished third in last year’s event.

The first three days of this year’s tournament have also been very competitive, with three games going overtime and five games decided by five points or less.

The Crescent City Sports team is in its 13th season of producing live broadcasts for television and internet, having produced nearly 500 live streams since 2012, and is continuing its extensive commitment to prep sports coverage on its website for 2023-24. All written and video content on CCS is always free and does not require a subscription.
