CCS Rankings: No. 1 teams teams unchanged, 12 unbeatens remain in Louisiana entering Week Nine

There are now just 12 unbeaten teams remaining heading into week nine of the LHSAA prep football season.

In our Week Nine Crescent City Sports rankings, those unbeatens are all ranked highly.

Five of those are in Class 5A, led by Destrehan and Karr, both of whom scored impressive victories again this past week. Either could occupy the top spot in our rankings. The Cougars ripped Holy Cross 49-19. The other unbeatens are Zachary, remaining third after fighting off Central, along with Carencro fourth and Ruston, the other unbeaten, including a forfeit win, in the fifth spot.

Catholic of Baton Rouge is sixth with John Curtis Christian now seventh with J.T. Curtis one win away from tying the United States prep football record for wins. Brother Martin is eighth with Captain Shreve ninth and Holy Cross falling to tenth.

Unbeaten St. Thomas More pulled out a 35-34 win over Teurlings Catholic to stay on top in Class 4A with Lafayette Christian a strong second. Neville is third with North DeSoto fourth and Archbishop Shaw moving up to fifth. Cecilia is up to sixth with West Feliciana now seventh. Teurlings Catholic is eighth with Westgate ninth and Assumption entering the rankings at No. 10.

Unbeaten E.D. White Catholic still leads the 3A rankings with University Lab second. Sterlington is third with St. James fourth and unbeaten Jena fifth. Parkview Baptist is sixth with John F. Kennedy seventh and Wossman eighth. St. Louis Catholic is ninth with Union Parish No. 10.

Unbeaten St. Charles Catholic continues atop the 2A rankings with unbeaten Calvary Baptist a close second. Unbeaten Newman is third with Oak Grove fourth and Many fifth. Dunham is sixth with Notre Dame seventh. D’Arbonne Woods is now eighth with Loreauville ninth. South Plaquemines enters the rankings at No. 10.

Ouachita Christian tops the 1A rankings with unbeaten Vermilion Catholic second. Southern Lab is third with Riverside Academy fourth and Kentwood fifth. Homer is sixth with Haynesville seventh and Glenbrook now eighth. Logansport is ninth and St. Martin’s Episcopal is No. 10.
