Torey Lambert

Brother Martin senior running back Torey Lambert has been selected as the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Prep Player of the Week for the metro New Orleans area for week 14 by the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club, Crescent City Sports, NASH ICON 106.1 FM and WGNO/WNOL Friday Night Football.

Previously committed to Texas State, Lambert rushed 24 times for 283 yards and five touchdowns and caught two passes for 33 yards as Brother Martin rallied past Carencro 55-24 in the Select Division I state semifinals, leading the Crusaders to their first state championship game appearance since 1989.

In four playoff games, Lambert has rushed 138 times for 954 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Lambert is coached by Mark Bonis.

“Torey’s numbers have been astronomical in the playoffs,” Bonis said. “He has been tremendous, a huge key to our success. He has been great with his productivity and leadership. Some more Division I colleges need to look his way, based on what he has done against outstanding opponents. He’s meant the world to us in our run in the playoffs.”

Lambert will be honored at the year-end meeting of the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club on Tuesday, December 13 at The Cannery in New Orleans.
