Boys/Co-Ed Bowling: Slidell defeats John Curtis

Slidell got a 682 series from anchor Hunter Mullen in a 19-8 victory over John Curtis Christian Wednesday at Bowling USA in Slidell.

Mullen, who won the boys U18 title in the Louisiana Grand Prix championship Sunday in Baton Rouge, had games of 222-215-245.

Slidell fired an opening-game 1,169 to lead 7-1, then stretched the lead to 12-4 after two. The Tigers had a 2,990 team series.

Mullen was the only Tiger to bowl all three games. Cameron Lackey averaged 214 for two games and Michael Broussard had a 226 in his only game.

Carter Santangelo led Curtis with a 598 series, while Ryder Kauffman had a 583 set.

Wednesday was the makeup of a postponed match from Jan. 16.

Both teams are back in action Thursday at Colonial Lanes – Slidell against Brother Martin and John Curtis against Hahnville.
