Entering Thursday, only three unbeaten teams remained in the Division II boys/co-ed bowling ranks, and two of them – Archbishop Shaw and Patrick Taylor – faced off at Westside Lanes in Harvey.

The Eagles obliterated the mark for high team series in the state this year, but the Tigers provided the individual highlights in a 19-8 Shaw victory.

Shaw (11-0) fired a 3,984 team series – more than 300 pins more than the previous season-best in Louisiana – but still went into the final game tied 8-8.

Patrick Taylor (8-1) split the six individual matches in each of the first two games, including the first 300 game of the Louisiana high school season from Jadon Lieu in game two, which helped the Tigers capture total pins in game two to pull the match even.

The Eagles swept the final game with a 1,388, led by 258 games from Zachary Richoux and Jonathan Arena.

Richoux led Shaw from the leadoff spot with a 770 series. Brady Barrilleaux had a 684 set and Joshua Collins a 655 as all six bowlers in the Eagle lineup shot 600 or better.

Lieu finished with a 700 series, followed by Zachary Nguyen’s 620 and Jayden Ho’s 618.

Shaw entered Thursday ranked atop the Division II boys/co-ed power rankings, with Patrick Taylor third.

Archbishop Rummel 27, East Jefferson 0: The Raiders blanked the Warriors at Bowlero Kenner.

Rummel (8-2), which entered Thursday at No. 5 in the Division I power rankings, substituted liberally at the Nos. 5-6 spots in the lineup. Devin Shirah had a 232 final game while Drew McDonald had a 530 series.

Gabriella Appenzeller’s 133 opening game was the best of the day for East Jefferson (0-12).

Slidell 23, Destrehan 4: The Tigers, sitting squarely on the playoff bubble, got a key win over the Wildcats at Bowlero.

Slidell (6-3), 17th in the latest Division I power rankings, had a 3,340 team series, led by Lillian Simpson’s 635 series and Hunter Mullen’s 629. Michael Broussard had games of 221 and 223 for the winners.

Destrehan (4-6) was led by Beau Senior’s 611 series.

Belle Chasse 21, Kenner Discovery 6: The Cardinals moved closer to clinching a Division II playoff berth with a win over the Swamp Owls at Bowlero.

Belle Chasse (7-2), 12th in the latest D-II power rankings, was led by Matthew St. Germain’s 222 final game and 599 series.
