Boys/Co-Ed Bowling: Belle Chasse’s St. Germain flirts with perfection in win over PJP

Belle Chasse sophomore Matthew St. Germain came within one shot of perfection in Tuesday’s boys/co-ed bowling matchup with Pope John Paul II at Bowling USA in Slidell.

St. Germain bowled a 299 final game in the Cardinals’ 20-7 victory over the Jaguars. After 11 straight strikes, he left a 10-pin on his final shot.

St. Germain had games of 199-223-299 for a 721 series. Bryce Shepherd had a 226 middle game as part of a 618 for Belle Chasse (4-1).

Jonathan Lala opened with a 194 and finished with a 489 series to lead Pope John Paul (3-5).

Belle Chasse entered Tuesday at No. 16 in the LHSAA Division II boys/co-ed power rankings. The top 16 teams make the playoffs.
