Hunter Mullen of Slidell defeated former Brother Martin bowler Jack Nunes to win the boys under-18 title at the Louisiana Grand Prix championship Sunday at All Star Lanes in Baton Rouge.

Mullen, the eighth and final qualifier for Sunday’s double-elimination finals, picked up his second tournament title at All Star in four months. He won the Capital City Strike Out in September.

Nunes, who graduated last May, was the No. 4 seed.

It’s the second straight year the boys U18 final has been an all-New Orleans event. Last year, Riley Elwood defeated Ashton Catalinotto in the championship match.

Caroline Engeron of Albany defeated Dutchtown’s Sydney Lee for the U18 girls title. Archbishop Chapelle’s Olivia Bares was third, and her teammate Elizabeth Hamilton finished tied for seventh.

Aiden Jones of South Terrebonne defeated top-seeded Brady Barrilleaux of Archbishop Shaw in the U15 boys final. Tyler Nunes of Brother Martin – Jack’s younger brother – finished third.

Parker Blanchard of Gonzales won the girls U15 title. The top local finisher was Patrick Taylor’s Addison Tran, who placed fourth.

Zander Tran, who bowls out of Westside Lanes, won the boys U12 title Sunday afternoon.
