Bowling: Slidell boys stay unbeaten; Patrick Taylor gets two wins

Slidell’s first-year boys bowling program is off to a great start.

The Tigers hit the midway point of their inaugural season at 6-0 with a 16-11 victory Tuesday over Belle Chasse in one of three matches held at Bowling USA in Slidell.

Slidell (6-0) broke open a 4-4 match by winning seven of eight points in game two to take control. Hunter Mullen’s 202 keyed the middle-game uprising.

Mullen finished with a 502 series. Bryce Shepherd led Belle Chasse (0-4) with a 522 series and Nigel Taylor added a 511 set, including a 220 final game.

Boys – Patrick Taylor 22, Pearl River 5: The Tigers swept the Rebels in the opening game en route to their fourth consecutive victory.

Jayden Ho had a 564 series, including a 205 closing game, to lead Patrick Taylor (4-1).

Izaiah Auglair rolled a 447 series and Jacob Harper had a 184 final game for Pearl River (0-3).

Girls – Patrick Taylor 16, Slidell 11: In the matchup of Tigers, Patrick Taylor won a tightly-contested match.

The teams split the six individual matches in each game. Slidell led 5-3 after one game but Patrick Taylor pulled even at 8-8 and took a 26-pin edge in total pins going into the final game.

Gabrielle Viviano’s final-game 171 keyed the win for Patrick Taylor (2-2). She won all three points in the anchor position and had a 444 series.

Riley Davis’ 385 series led Slidell (0-3).
