East Jefferson’s co-ed bowling team defeated Salmen 21-6 Wednesday at Bowling USA in Slidell.

Adam Atkins had a 219 game and 567 series to lead East Jefferson (3-4). Caleb Goetz had a 480 series for the Warriors.

Xander Walter’s 167 final game led Salmen (0-7).

Power Ratings: The first release of power ratings, through Monday’s matches, have familiar faces from the New Orleans area near the top.

Archbishop Chapelle (7-0) is just ahead of East Ascension for the top spot in the girls power ratings heading into their non-district showdown Thursday in Gonzales. Chapelle was the No. 1 seed in last year’s bracket.

Lafayette, Airline and H.L. Bourgeois round out the top five. Kenner Discovery (11th) and Cabrini (16th) would qualify for the playoffs if the season ended today.

On the boys side, two-time defending state champion Brother Martin is fourth, .01 behind No. 3 Denham Springs. Central, the top seed in last year’s bracket, currently ranks No. 1 in the power ratings, with South Terrebonne second.

Bonnabel, which was unbeaten before losing to Patrick Taylor earlier this week, is eighth, with Jesuit two spots behind as the highest-rated one-loss team. Archbishop Shaw (19th), Archbishop Rummel (22nd) and Holy Cross (32nd) would also reach the playoffs if the season ended today.
