Bowling: Chapelle, Slidell boys get wins

Archbishop Chapelle’s bowling team pitched a 27-0 shutout Tuesday over Slidell at Bowling USA.

The Chipmunks (3-0), bowling without regular No. 6 Olivia Bares in the lineup, got a 498 series from Mia Bella Harvey, including a 189 middle game, to lead the way.

The match was the season opener for the Tigers, who added both boys and girls bowling this season.

Chapelle has a key early-season showdown with Academy of Our Lady Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner. The schools have combined to win three of the last four girls state championships.

Boys – Slidell 18, Belle Chasse 9: Also at Bowling USA, the Tigers rallied in the final two games to defeat the Cardinals and remain unbeaten.

Belle Chasse (0-2) led 6-2 after one game as Bryce Shepherd had a 195 game.

Slidell (3-0) rallied behind Elyjah White from the No. 3 spot in the lineup. White’s 212 led the way in game two as the Tigers tied the match at 8-8, and his 233 final game keyed a 7-1 finish.

White had a 581 series to lead Slidell, while Shepherd’s 510 set paced Belle Chasse.
