On senior day for Archbishop Chapelle, the Chipmunks re-wrote one of their own state girls bowling records yet again.

For the second time in two weeks, Chapelle set the state mark for two-game series in a 25-2 victory over Mount Carmel at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

Chapelle (9-0) had games of 1,043, 1,179 and 1,059 for a 3,281 team series. The Chips’ total of 2,222 through the first two games topped their mark of 2,219 set on March 1 against Academy of Our Lady. The effort against AOL bettered the mark Chapelle set last year.

The top three bowlers in the Chapelle lineup all had 600 series, led by Sarah Rubi’s 645, including a 250 opening game. Marissa Rinderle closed with a 245 for a 611 series and Madalyn Haas had a 235 middle game as part of a 601 set.

Mount Carmel (1-8) was paced by Taylor Hunn’s 536 series.

Brother Martin 24, Patrick Taylor 3: At Colonial Lanes in Harahan, the Crusaders got off to a fast start in defeating the Tigers.

Brother Martin (8-1) used a 1,255 team game to sweep all eight points in the opening game, led by a 268 from Jacob Vangilder, which matches the highest score in the New Orleans area this season. Ricky Carmona had a 217 and Dylan McDonald a 213 in the opening game.

From there, the Crusaders picked up six points in the middle game and seven in the final game. Darren Martino had a final-game 203 as all 10 Brother Martin bowlers in the lineup saw action, none for more than two games.

Timothy Nguyen had a 623 series, including a 229 final game, to lead Patrick Taylor (5-4).

Archbishop Rummel 24, Crescent City Christian 3: At AMF, the Raiders cruised to victory over the Pioneers.

Matthew Fletcher opened with a 224 and had a 588 series to lead Rummel (7-3).

Gregory Storms had a final-game 193 as part of a 478 set to pace Crescent City (1-7).

Holy Cross 16, Pope John Paul II 11: Also at AMF, the Tigers rallied from an early 6-2 deficit to defeat the Jaguars.

Pope John Paul II (2-6) got wins in the bottom three spots in the lineup to take the early lead, but Holy Cross (5-3) rallied to pull even at 8-8 through two games. The teams split the six individual matches in the final game but the Tigers managed to win total pins for the game and the match, which provided the five-point differential in the final score.

Jackson Haro led the Tigers with a 478 series while Bryce O’Quain had a 464.

Anthony Pham led PJP with a 469 set and Jack Kingman claimed three points in a 452 set.
