Basketball Report: Bonnabel boys win King Tourney; Fontainebleau girls win in OT

Bonnabel captured the Grace King Tournament championship, rallying from a halftime deficit to defeat the defending Class 1A state champion Pioneers 83-78.

Crescent City led 38-26 at the half before the Bruins turned up the heat, scoring 57 points in the second half. T.J. Collins led the way with 27 points while Rodney Munson had 26 points. William Allen finished with 10 points for the Bruins (3-0). The Pioneers fell to 2-3 with the defeat.

The two teams are set for a rematch Thursday at Crescent City at 7:30 p.m.

In girls action, Fontainebleau improved to 2-0 with a thrilling 52-48 overtime win at Thibodaux. The Lady Bulldogs will host East Jefferson next Saturday afternoon. The Tigers (0-2) have lost two games by a total of six points. They will next face Ellender in the Ellender Tournament Monday afternoon.
