Area Prep Baseball Report for Saturday, March 12

Brother Martin doubled up Parkview Baptist 12-6 at the Jay Patterson Shootout at Dutchtown on Friday.

Senior Colin Roussel was 3 for 3 with a pair of RBI to pace the Crusaders while Frank Randol had a pair of hits, including an RBI triple.

Walker Bazile laid out to make an outstanding catch in center field for the final out of the game.

Brother Martin (8-3) will play twice Saturday, taking on Parkway at 12:30 p.m. and Northshore at 3 p.m. at St. Amant.

Also at the Patterson Shootout, Northshore scored a solid 7-2 win over Archbishop Rummel.

Cole Randazzo allowed just one earned run in six innings pitched to pick up the win.

Jackson Fayard, Grant Simmons, Anthony Tamborella and Andrew Vollenweider each had RBI hits to pace the Panthers (4-7) offensively.

Archbishop Hannan fell behind early but took over in a convincing 10-2 win in tournament play at Chalmette.

The Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning before Hannan scored four runs in the top of the second. Slidell cut the deficit to 4-2 with a run in the bottom of the second.

Reid Passauer pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run on three hits. Passauer walked four and struck out seven.

The Hawks then broke it open with two runs in the third, one in the fourth and three runs in the fifth inning to complete the scoring.

Cole Matherne had three hits and two RBI, Bryce Coe drove in a pair of runs. Logan Huth and Colin Hebert each had a hit and an RBI for the Hawks.

Corey Cousin took the loss for the Tigers while Justin St. Clair drove in a run for Slidell.

Archbishop Hannan (5-8) will travel to St. Thomas Aquinas Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. while Slidell (7-5) will host South Terrebonne Monday at 4 p.m.
