After just two years on the job, Aaron Barras has resigned as head baseball coach at Holy Cross.

A Holy Cross graduate, Barras took over in 2023, when he was hired away from Kenner Discovery, where he served as head baseball coach.

The Tigers won a playoff series in 2023 and were eliminated in the regional round and this past season, Holy Cross lost to Byrd in the bi-district round of the Select Division I playoffs.

Holy Cross was 30-35-1 in the two seasons under Barras.

In a letter to Holy Cross parents obtained by Crescent City Sports, school President and Headmaster William J. Gallagher said he accepted the resignation, stating that Barras, after much prayer, decided to spend more time with his growing and active young family.

Gallagher added that Barras will continue as a valued member of the Holy Cross faculty while no longer participating in the baseball program.

The search for a new head coach and program director will begin immediately.
