Les Miles, Steve Spurrier

The SEC Network will have a familiar face join the crew for the season opener between Florida and Michigan.

Les Miles will be a guest analyst on the SEC Nation pregame show from 8-11 a.m. Central time Sept. 2 live from Arlington, Texas.

Longtime LSU head coach Les Miles will serve as a guest analyst for the season opener. In addition to his extensive SEC background, Miles was a player and coach at Michigan. Miles’ former running back, Derrius Guice, will be featured in an in-depth story reported by Rutledge. Also, former South Carolina and longtime Florida head coach Steve Spurrier, and additional guests, will stop by the set throughout the telecast.

It’s interesting that Spurrier will also be on set with The Mad Hatter after his latest not-so-subtle jab at Miles’ LSU era. At the Independence Bowl season kickoff luncheon in Shreveport, Spurrier quipped, “You can have good ball players and still not win football games — all you LSU fans know about that.”

LSU relieved Miles of his coaching duties last September after a 2-2 start, ending his reign as Tigers head coach dating back to 2005.

Miles is also a proud former Michigan player and assistant coach, adding to the intrigue of his analyst duties.
