Higgins-Hammond football game scheduled for Saturday at Lakeshore
A pair of schools will play their first game of the Hurricane Ida-interrupted season on Saturday at a neutral site.
Higgins will take on Hammond at 2 p.m. at Lakeshore High School.
“We were fortunate to have a good turf field and stadium to play at and we wanted to give our kids a chance to play,” Higgins athletic director Buddy Veillon said.
Hammond was to play Higgins at Hoss Memtsas Stadium but the stadium has power issues and is not ready to host a game.
The Hurricanes had their games with John F. Kennedy and Douglass canceled while the Tornadoes had their game with Tara canceled previously.
