Xavier rolls to sweep of doubleheader with Tougaloo

Xavier University of Louisiana defeated Tougaloo 12-3 and 14-3 in a doubleheader Thursday at Tougaloo, Miss.

The Gold Rush (8-10) ended a season-high four-game losing streak and scored in double figures for the third and fourth times this season.

XULA will play host to Southwest (N.M.) in a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series this weekend at Wesley Barrow Stadium: first game at noon Saturday followed by a doubleheader at noon Sunday.

Southwest is 9-0 in the RRAC and leads by a game over LSU-Shreveport and Louisiana Christian. XULA is 3-6 in conference and in eighth place out of 12 teams.
