UNO adds midweek game, will host Dillard on Tuesday

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers baseball team has added on a scheduled game against the Dillard Bleu Devils. The recently inserted contest will take place on Tuesday night at Maestri Field at 6:30 p.m.

New Orleans (19-13) is coming off a series sweep against Southeastern, their first against the Lions since joining the conference. The Privateers won the final game of the series 3-2 on a two-run sixth inning triple by Mitchell Sanford. The game was closed out by Colton Mercer who earned his first save of the year.

This will be the first ever meeting against Dillard in program history. The Bleu Devils are in the midst of their first season and are 12-27 on the year. Dillard is 8-4 in conference play.

Tristan Moore had a huge week for the Privateers with three home runs and 11 RBI. Moore and Sanford both rank in the top five in the Southland in RBI. Sanford has driven in 34 runs while Moore has brought in 33. Moore’s seven RBI in the second game of the series against Southeastern were the most by a Privateer this season.

New Orleans ranks at the top of the Southland and in the top 50 in the nation in home runs, slugging percentage, runs scored and fielding percentage. Kasten Furr leads the Southland individually in runs scored with 38.

Jalen Ayers leads the Bleu Devils, hitting at a .359 clip this season. Ty’Mitchell McCullough has a team-best nine doubles and a team batting average of .333.
