An Adarius Myers RBI double, scoring Ethan Bates, started the scoring run for the Bulldogs. Following a single from Michael Ballard with Karson Evans’s RBI double put Tech up 2-0. Senior Logan McLeod blasted a 3-run home run to left field, increasing Tech’s lead to 5-0.

Meanwhile, in the third inning, the Bulldogs kept producing runs. Dalton Davis’s (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 1 HR) solo homerun continued his 17-game hitting and on-bases reach streak. Left fielder Adarius Myers went back-to-back innings with hits to start his day. Michael Ballard’s RBI single to right scored Ethan Bates, putting Tech in a 7-0 lead. A Kent State passed ball resulted in Adarius Myers scoring, and Will Safford’s RBI groundout scored Michael Ballard (2-for-4, 1 RBI).

Next, the Bulldogs scored runs in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a Dalton Davis RBI single scoring Logan McLeod, Tech’s lead turned 10-0. Ethan Bates’s RBI single, scoring Kasten Furr in the inning, made it an 11-0 game. Bates followed up with an RBI double in the seventh, eventually making it a 12-0 game. Tech scored its final run in the eighth after Logan McLeod had a sacrifice fly out to center, which led to Karson Evans’s score. Kent State gained two runs in the ninth following a bases-loaded situation, which caused Kotlon Schaller and Payton Ebbing to score.

The Bulldogs defense had eight scoreless frames. Pitcher Turner Swistak went 5.0 innings with two strikeouts, gave up one hit, and picked up his second win this season. Freshmen Reece Tarini and Hayden Harmon both made their first appearances for the year on the mound.

Head coach Lane Burroughs’s Quote:
“We challenged them this week to get their edge back and play with a chip on their shoulder, and they did. From an offensive standpoint, I could not be more proud of those guys. They were relentless the entire weekend, and we never let them up for air.”
