ULM sets home-and-home football series with Sam Houston

MONROE, La. – ULM football has announced a home-and-home series with the Sam Houston for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. ULM will host the Bearkats at Malone Stadium on Sept. 4, 2027, before playing in Huntsville, Texas on Sept. 23, 2028, at Sam Houston.

The former Southland Conference opponents will meet for the first time since 2001. ULM holds a 6-2 series lead with the series beginning in 1988. The Warhawks are 5-1 playing the Bearkats inside Malone Stadium and are 1-1 in Huntsville.

For ULM, the home-and-home series with Sam Houston is the latest addition to the Warhawks’ future non-conference opponents slate. ULM is set to play Jackson State and UAB in Monroe before facing a pair of Power 5 opponents on the road with Texas and Auburn. In 2025, the Warhawks will travel to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama on Sept. 6. The 2026 schedule includes road games at Mississippi State and UAB before ULM hosts Southeastern Louisiana. The Warhawks play at Texas in 2029 and scheduled a home-and-home series with Louisiana Tech in the 2030 and 2031 seasons.
