Two Rachels Are Better Than One: Dillard sweeps GCAC Women’s Track & Field honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – A pair of Rachels (Jackson & Rowe) are this week’s representatives of Track & Field Athletes of the Week, both coming from Dillard University’s program.

Jackson competed well in the Southeastern Strawberry Relays, earning fifth in 400 hurdles with a season-best time of 1:09.19 while also claiming a top-15 placement in the 100 hurdles at 17.58 seconds.

Rowe won the triple jump at the Southeastern Strawberry Relays with a leap of 11.71m, defeating two NCAA Division I athletes in the process and qualifying for the NAIAs in the event. She just narrowly missed a second victory, coming in second during the long jump at 5.52m and beating ten NCAA Division I competitors.
