Tulane’s Jaylen Forbes garners fourth AAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane men’s basketball sophomore guard Jaylen Forbes has been selected to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the fourth time this season in an announcement by the league office Monday afternoon.
Forbes previously received the weekly recognition on Nov. 30, Jan. 4 and Feb. 1, while redshirt junior guard Jordan Walker has received the honor twice (Dec. 14 and Feb. 8).

Forbes averaged 17.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting a scorching 17-of-18 (.944) at the free throw line in a 2-1 week on the road for the Green Wave. The Florence, Miss., native scored in double-figures three times, including a game-high 20 points with six rebounds in a 58-48 road win over Tulsa on Feb. 10. He followed up that performance 14 points, eight rebounds and three steals at UCF on Feb. 12.

Forbes closed out the week with a game-high 19 points, including 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc in the 62-59 victory at USF on Feb. 14. The sophomore has scored in double-figures in 15 of Tulane’s 17 games this season.

Tulane (9-8, 4-8 AAC) returns to action Wednesday, February 17 for a conference matchup at SMU. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
