Tulane thumps FAU to reach AAC tourney title game for second straight season

CLEARWATER, Fla. – No. 3 seed Tulane advanced to the final of the 2024 American Baseball Championship presented by Regions with a 13-1 victory in seven innings over No. 6 seed Florida Atlantic Saturday afternoon, May 25, at Bay Care Ballpark in Clearwater, Fla.

With the win, Tulane (34-24) will look to become the first team to win the American Championship in back-to-back years and will face Wichita State in the final on Sunday, May 26 at noon Eastern on ESPNEWS and ESPN+.

The Owls complete their first season in The American with an overall record of 28-29.

Billy Price (3-2) pitched a complete game for the Green Wave, allowing one run in the first inning with seven strikeouts over his 7-inning outing.

Jackson Linn, Gavin Schulz and Michael Lombardi each drove in three runs, while Brady Marget crossed the plate three times and was 3-for-4 from the plate.

Marget recorded triples in the second and fourth innings, becoming the first player in Championship history to record a pair of triples in a single game. Tulane as a team broke the Championship record for team triples in a single game with three, as Schulz also tripled in the second inning.

Trey Beard (4-4) took the loss for the Owls.
