Tulane gets third straight AAC win with victory in Temple

PHILADELPHIA – Tulane men’s basketball grabs its third straight AAC with its afternoon 87-76 victory over Temple.

Jaylen Forbes led the way with 22 points, 10 coming from the free throw line. Forbes also had six rebounds to add to his stat line.

Kevin Cross nabbed his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Sion James dropped 17 points, had five rebounds and three assists.

The first half was a battle with neither team getting ahead by more than six. Tulane shot 44.8 percent from the floor while Temple shot 43.3. The Green Wave would have a one-point lead heading into the locker room at 35-34.

The second half got interesting with Temple compiling three technical fouls one of which came from having too many men on the floor. Jaylen Forbes took the shots for Tulane, going 6-6.

Tulane outre bounded Temple 37-34 and won the turnover battle 6-8.

Tulane heads to Dallas to face SMU next Wednesday for their fourth conference matchup.

Tulane has made at least one 3-point field goal in 270 consecutive games. The last time the Green Wave failed to do so came on Jan.16, 2014 at home against Louisiana Tech when they went 0-for-14 from outside.
