Tyler, Texas – Tulane football’s Sincere Haynesworth was named a preseason candidate for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, SPORTyler, Inc. announced this afternoon.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is an award given annually to the “top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity.” The award was established in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber of Commerce in Tyler, Texas and is presented by SPORTyler, Inc., in conjunction with the City of Tyler, the Tyler Convention & Visitors Bureau and Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce.

He is one of seven players from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) recognized on the watch list and one of only five offensive lineman nationally.

Haynesworth was a First Team All-American Athletic Conference (AAC) selection in 2022. He played and started all 14 games at center. He aided the Tulane offense to average 36 points, 441.4 yards while totaling 30 passing touchdowns and 34 rushing touchdowns in 2022. Haynesworth blocked in front of the 2022 American Athletic Conference (AAC) Offensive Player of the Year in Tyjae Spears. He also served as one of the team’s four elected captains for the 2022 season.

The Watch List announced today will be narrowed to up to 16 semifinalists in November and then up to 5 finalists in December. They will be selected by broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans, and previous winners. The finalists will be brought to Tyler for The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet scheduled for January 10, 2024.
This year’s Watch List (complete list attached) includes:
