Tulane announces 2020-21 non-conference women’s basketball schedule

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women’s basketball head coach Lisa Stockton announced on Tuesday the team’s 2020-21 non-conference schedule, which boasts five games against teams in five different conferences.

The Olive and Blue are set to open their season at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Nov. 25, against Nicholls State. The Green Wave and the Colonels last met in the 2018-19 season, with Tulane taking a 71-46 victory over Nicholls. Stockton holds a 47-2 record against schools currently in the Southland Conference.

Tulane will close its home non-conference slate on Friday, Nov. 27, against Texas Southern at Fogelman in Devlin. The two teams met last season and the Tigers won the game, 72-62. In her 27-year career at Tulane, Stockton holds a 17-1 record against teams currently in the SWAC.

The Green Wave will then hit the road to face South Alabama on Tuesday, Dec. 2, in Mobile, Ala. Tulane fell to the Jaguars last season, 62-53. Under Stockton, the Green Wave hold a 29-3 record against teams currently in the Sun Belt.

The Olive and Blue will continue their road trip on Thursday, Dec. 3, as they head to Georgia Tech. The Green Wave and the Yellow Jackets most recently met in the 2016 WNIT, as Tulane took a 64-61 victory in Atlanta. The Green Wave last beat an ACC team on Dec. 17, 2016, when they defeated NC State 63-58.

Tulane’s non-conference schedule will come to a close on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Middle Tennessee State. The two teams met last season, with the Blue Raiders taking a close 64-62 victory in New Orleans. Under Stockton, the Green Wave are 104-54 against current Conference USA teams.

The American Athletic Conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
