Taysom Hill receives no offer sheet before deadline

It does not come as a surprise but no NFL team made an offer to Saints restricted free agent Taysom Hill before Friday’s deadline.

The Saints gave Hill a first round tender, giving them the option of matching any offer or receiving a first round pick as compensation. The versatile Hill has been labeled as the quarterback of the future by head coach Sean Payton but the BYU product has great current value to New Orleans as a runner, receiver and special teams standout as well.

Barring the negotiation of a long term deal, Hill will return to the Saints in 2020 on a one-year contract worth $4.6 million.
