HAMMOND, La. – Six student-athletes have decided to continue their academic and athletic endeavors as members of the Southeastern Louisiana University football program, SLU head football coach Frank Scelfo announced Wednesday.

The Lions welcomed four signees Wednesday in defensive end Otto Brewer III (Gulf Shores, Alabama), long snapper Will Davidson (Marietta, Georgia), offensive lineman Isaiah Hayes (Clearwater, Florida) and quarterback Jamarcus Pittman (McComb, Mississippi).

Scelfo also announced the addition of midyear transfer defensive backs Shakespeare Louis (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) and Nick Turner (Slidell, Louisiana). Both are currently enrolled and will participate in spring practice.

The newest additions join 21 December signees to give the Lions 27 newcomers heading into the 2024 campaign.

“We put pieces in place where we thought we had some holes,” Scelfo commented. “We have some guys are going to be ready to contribute immediately and others who are going to fill some gaps we’ll have when we graduate our next senior class after the 2024 season.”

Southeastern’s spring practice will run Feb. 20 through March 23. The Lions open their 12-game 2024 schedule at Tulane.
