Southeastern downs Samford in fall baseball exhibition

BILOXI, Miss. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program swept Samford in a pair of seven-inning exhibition contests Sunday at MGM Park.

Fifteen different Southeastern players combined to pound out 19 total hits in a doubleheader that featured a pitcher’s duel in the opener.

Jude Hall, Cole Stromboe, Dane Watts and Justin Williams picked up a pair of hits each. Also picking up hits for the Lions were Clay Benson, Coley, Christian Garcia, Haze, Dom Letort, Connor O’Neal, Dom Regira, Gray Rowlett, TJ Salvaggio, Shea Thomas and McGwire Turner.

Coley and Williams provided home runs.

SLU received scoreless outings on the mound from Chase Ambrose, Dalton Aspholm, Lance Lauve, Dakota Lee, Lakin Polk, Jackson Rodriguez, Brennan Stuprich and Williams. Lee and Polk both picked up wins in relief for the Lions.

UP NEXT
SLU matches up against ULM in a 16-inning contest, Nov. 5, at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. General admission tickets ($10) will be available on Ticketmaster beginning Friday. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. Gates open one hour prior and the parking lots ($5) open two hours before first pitch.
