Strawberry Stadium in Hammond

HAMMOND, La. – With the most exciting spring in school history about to enter full swing in the coming weeks, Southeastern Louisiana University Athletics announced facility capacity limits for upcoming 2020-21 home events.

Current health and safety guidelines set forth by state and local officials due to the COVID-19 pandemic will allow the following attendance at spring events: 2,518 fans for football at Strawberry Stadium, 937 for baseball at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field and 244 for softball at North Oak Park. The limit for the remaining games on the basketball schedule at the University Center is 1,875 fans.

As of February 3, the current guidelines allow for 25 percent capacity at athletic events. Capacities will be adjusted as state guidelines allow.

Season tickets for football, baseball and softball are underway. Once season tickets are wrapped up, single-game tickets will be made available. A limited allotment of tickets will be reserved for students and visiting fans. For more information regarding tickets, contact the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466 or visit www.LionSports.net/tickets.

“We’re excited about our upcoming home seasons and for our student-athletes to be able to return to the field and for our fans to create a great atmosphere for competition,” Southeastern Director of Athletics Jay Artigues commented. “Our student-athletes need it and our community needs it. Our student-athletes train to compete, they don’t train to train.”

The limited capacity set forth by the state will give fans an opportunity to safely support the Lions and Lady Lions this coming spring, according to Artigues.

“We need our fans to follow all the safety and health protocols in place,” Artigues commented. “We will provide a great environment for student-athletes and fans that everyone can enjoy safely.”

For those fans who may not be able to make every game, following SLU Athletics has never been easier. The majority of SLU home football, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball and soccer matches through May will be televised on ESPN+. A limited amount of contests will be streamed for free live on the Southeastern Sports Network at www.lionsports.net/ssn.
