Softball: St. Charles Catholic remains unbeaten with win over Plaquemine

Area Prep Softball Report for Thursday, Feb. 24

St. Charles Catholic is off to a rousing start in 2022.

The Comets moved to 3-0 with a convincing 13-0 victory Wednesday at Plaquemine in a game shortened to five innings by the mercy rule.

St. Charles Catholic scored in all five innings, putting up two runs in the first, a run in the second and four runs each in the third and fourth innings before scoring twice in the fifth to finish it off.

Adrienne Arnett led St. Charles Comets with three hits while Mia Ganote had two hits and drove in a pair of runs.

Dani Aucoin went the distance, allowing four hits and struck out five.

St. Charles Catholic has outscored three opponents by a 39-4 margin thus far.

The Comets return to action Monday at E.D. White Catholic at 4 p.m.

Plaquemine (2-2) will host University Lab today at 4:30 p.m.
