HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program returns to the Keith LeClair Classic in Greenville, North Carolina this weekend for the first time since the 2016 season and will face Cal State Fullerton, Purdue and No. 11-ranked East Carolina in the three-day event at Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium.

Friday’s slate has been pushed up from the originally scheduled times because of weather expected later in the day. SLU (6-3) will now face Cal State Fullerton (4-3) at 9 a.m. CT Friday in the first game of the day. The Lions square off against Purdue (6-2) at 10 a.m. CT Saturday and host ECU (5-3) at noon Sunday.

Southeastern’s game Sunday against the Pirates will be carried on ESPN+.

Fans can listen to all three games in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps. Both the TuneIn and MyTuner apps are compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late-model automobiles. Search for KSLU 90.9 FM in the TuneIn app.

Southeastern has won its last four and is coming off a combined no-hitter by four Lion pitchers Wednesday against Mississippi Valley State at home.

Jude Hall (.500), Bailyn Sorensen (.278) and Shea Thomas (.267) are the Lions’ leading hitters. Hall paces the squad with four homers and is tied with Parker Coley for the team lead in RBIs (10).

This weekend, right-hander Brennan Stuprich (0-1, 2.00) draws the starting nod for the Lions in the opener. The redshirt junior from Kenner, Louisiana will be opposed by Fullerton redshirt junior right-hander Christian Rodriguez (1-1, 6.30).

Saturday’s pitching matchup features redshirt junior right-hander Dakota Lee (0-0, 1.86) for SLU and senior right-hander Kyle Iwinski (1-0, 7.45) for the Boilermakers.

Will Kinzeler (1-0, 10.50), a senior right-hander from Covington, Louisiana, earns the start on the mound in the series finale. He will be opposed by ECU junior right-hander Jake Hunter (1-0, 0.87).

Fullerton is coming off a 6-4 win over Loyola Marymount on Tuesday after dropping two of three games this past weekend to Fresno State.

Eli Lopez (.389), Maddox Latta (.320) and Colby Wallace (.304) are the Titans’ leading hitters. Wallace leads the squad with a pair of home runs and is tied for the team lead with five RBIs.

Purdue is coming off a series victory this past weekend against George Mason, winning three of the four games in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Luke Gaffney (.500), Camden Gasser (.476) and Logan Sutter (.452) are the Boilermakers’ leading hitters. Four different players, including Gaffney and Sutter, have hit a pair of home runs. Sutter and Connor Caskenette are tied for the team lead with 12 RBIs.

ECU dropped a midweek game at Old Dominion after taking 2-of-3 from No. 15-ranked North Carolina this past weekend.

Jacob Cowart-Jenkins (.485), Carter Cunningham (.471) and Jacob Starling (.323) are the Pirates’ leading hitters. Cowart-Jenkins also paces the team with six doubles, three home runs and 13 RBIs.

UP NEXT
Southeastern returns home for a 10-game homestand leading into Southland Conference action. Tuesday the Lions host Alcorn State in a game that was originally slated for Lorman, Mississippi. First pitch is at 6 p.m. at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Wednesday, SLU hosts No. 2-ranked LSU in a sold-out contest in Hammond.

TICKET & PARKING INFORMATION
Single-game tickets are now on sale. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office before the game to reserve theirs in advance.

General admission tickets for most games are $11 for adults and $8 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted for free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.LionSports.net/Tickets or by contacting the Southeastern Athletics Ticket Office at (985) 549-5466. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour before the scheduled first pitch.

Southeastern uses mobile ticketing as the primary method for distributing tickets purchased online. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.
