Saints standout Deonte Harris placed on reserve/COVID-19 list
Saints All-Pro kick and punt returner Deonte Harris has been placed on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list.
Harris is the third player for New Orleans to be placed on the list. Linebacker Kaden Elliss and long snapper Zach Wood have been re-activated.
As an undrafted rookie last season, the 5-foot-6 Harris had 982 return yards and one touchdown while also seeing snaps at wide receiver.
Harris may not be unavailable for long if The Athletic’s Katherine Terrell is correct that he tested positive falsely.
Hearing again today it sounds like it’s thought to be a false positive for Deonte Harris, so that’s good news as we get close to padded practices next week. I thought the NFL was changing protocol so this didn’t happen to players anymore? 🧐

To be placed on the reserve/COVID-19, a player must have tested positive for the novel coronavirus or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive. A player can be activated off of the list have having two consecutive negative tests.
