Saints sign Simmie Cobbs off Redskins practice squad

New Orleans has added another wide receiver.

The team signed wide receiver Simmie Cobbs off Washington’s practice squad. He takes the place of tight end Erik Swoope, who was waived with a failed physical designation after being claimed off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts.

Cobbs said Washington offered to promote him to the 53-man roster once he received an offer from the Saints, but the wide receiver said he couldn’t pass up New Orleans’ offer. Read more here.
