Rory McIlory finished at 20-under-par 268, which was good for a 2-stroke win at Crooked Stick.

Rory McIlroy, the top-ranked golfer in the world, continued his hot streak with his fourth win of the year at the BMW Championship held at Crooked Stick Golf Club, outside of Indianapolis.

His 20-under total was two strokes better than Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood. Three shots behind McIlroy at 17 under were Tiger Woods and Robert Garrigus.

McIlroy’s win came with a purse of $1,400,000 top boost his total winnings this year to $7,800,000. He is a lock for the PGA Tour Money Title and PGA Tour Player of the Year.

McIlroy is also the number one seed going into the FedEx Cup Finale in two weeks at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. There are four other top seeds who can win The Tour Championship and capture the $10 million bonus, Tiger Woods, Nick Watney, Phil Mickelson and Brandt Snedeker. However, when you are on a streak as he is, he will be hard to beat. Rory’s cumulative scoring average in the PGA Championship, Deutsche Bank and BMW Championships is 67.5.

“Rory is putting on a show out there and we’ve got one more tournament,” Tiger Woods said.

McIlroy can relate to what Woods did when he was dominating.

“I think I’ve always had an appreciation for what Tiger did over the years, winning seven, eight, nine times a season,” McIlroy said, “The more you put yourself in this position, and the more you win and the more you pick up trophies, it becomes normal, it feels like what you’re supposed to do. I’m sure that is how Tiger felt when he was on that run and how he still feels.”

Just how good is McIlroy? Golf’s phenom is not ready to claim a spot on that top rung in history just yet.

“I don’t think I’m quite there yet, but I am getting to that stage, where I am thinking this is what I should be doing, I should be lifting a trophy at the end of the week,” said McIlroy.

As this 23-year old wunderkind from Northern Ireland, who joins only Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only others to have six PGA Tour wins by that age, says “Winning is becoming normal.”

Rory McIlroy has redefined normal in golf today.
