Report: Ty Montgomery to sign with Patriots

Journeyman running back Ty Montgomery, who spent the last two seasons with the Saints, is headed to the New England Patriots on a two-year deal, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson.

I’m told RB Ty Montgomery is agreeing to a 2-year deal worth up to $4M with the #Patriots, per league source.

In two seasons in New Orleans, Montgomery played in 20 games, rushing 34 times for 145 yards and catching 19 passes for 122 yards.

Montgomery has 1,180 rushing yards and 139 receptions in seven NFL seasons. He played with Green Bay, Baltimore and the New York Jets before landing in New Orleans. He came into the league as a wide receiver before moving to running back with the Packers and continued to wear No. 88 throughout his league stops.
