Report: Saints tackle Zach Strief expected to retire
Saints right tackle Zach Strief is expected to retire after 12 seasons with New Orleans, according to a report by the NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport.
#Saints OT Zach Strief, a long-time stalwart on their O-line, is expected to retire, I’m told, though he has not made his choice public. This was the expectation and makes their pick of first-rounder Ryan Ramczyk more important than it already was.

Strief entered last season as a starter but ended up on injured reserve due to a torn ACL and MCL suffered in London during a week four game against the Dolphins.
Rapaport points out that Strief is drawn to moving on with his life after football. The seventh round pick in 2006 out of Northwestern became a father for the first time last month. Strief also became part-owner of Port Orleans Brewery last year.
The Saints drafted Ryan Ramcyck in the late first round last spring, and the rookie from Wisconsin took over Strief’s starting spot after the knee injuries.
