The New Orleans Pelicans are adding a former NBA executive of the year to their front office, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Gar Forman, who worked for the Chicago Bulls for 22 years and was voted the league’s top executive in 2011, will reportedly join the franchise as a “special advisor.”

Forman first joined the franchise in 1998 – the same year former UNO coach Tim Floyd took over as the Bulls’ head coach. Forman was an assistant to Floyd at Iowa State and came over to Chicago as a scout.

In 2004, Forman became the Bulls’ director of player personnel, and in 2009, he was named the team’s general manager, a position he held until this spring.
