Report: Ja’Marr Chase to opt out of 2020 LSU season to prepare for NFL Draft

LSU junior wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has informed the team that he is choosing to opt out of the 2020 college football season to concentrate on NFL Draft preparations, CBS Sports first reported Sunday.

A formal announcement is expected Monday with Chase, the Archbishop Rummel product who took home the Biletnikoff Award.

Sources said Chase’s decision is not specifically related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
