Ragin’ Cajuns announce fall softball schedule 2022

Fans have four chances in October to see the Ragin’ Cajuns at Lamson Park

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball team is set for a series of four fall games during the month of October, all contests occurring at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park.

Each game on the Fall 2022 schedule is open to the public with free admission being offered to fans. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Louisiana kicks off the fall season on Saturday, October 8 with an intersquad scrimmage at 12:30 p.m. The Ragin’ Cajuns close out the weekend on Sunday afternoon, meeting McNeese in a 1:00 p.m. contest.

The fall schedule continues with a matchup against Northwestern State on Friday, October 14 at 6:00 p.m., and then concludes on Sunday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. vs. LSU Eunice.

Saturday, October 8 – Intersquad Scrimmage, 12:30 p.m. | Lamson Park
Sunday, October 9 – vs. McNeese, 1:00 p.m. | Lamson Park
Friday, October 14 – vs. Northwestern State, 6:00 p.m. | Lamson Park
Sunday, October 30 – vs. LSU Eunice, 2:00 p.m. | Lamson Park

During the fall, the Ragin’ Cajuns are preparing for their sixth season under the guidance of head coach Gerry Glasco coming up in 2023. Louisiana is the three-time defending Belt Conference regular season and conference tournament champions and is coming off the program’s 23rd consecutive 40-win season and NCAA Tournament appearance.

In the 2022 season, the Ragin’ Cajuns placed a conference-high nine players on the All-Sun Belt team, recorded a program-record .351 season batting average and generated the most home runs in Glasco’s tenure (82).
