Pinson cross 1,000 point career mark in No. 19 LSU’s win over Northwestern State

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU senior guard Xavier Pinson surpassed 1,000 career points Tuesday in an 89-49 victory over the Northwestern State Demons inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The Tigers were led by Tari Eason on the offensive side of the ball, finishing with double-digit points for the third straight contest. He tallied 18 points and five rebounds. Freshman Efton Reid collected the first double-double of his LSU career, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Pinson closed out the night with 15 points, four assists and three rebounds.

The Demons were led by Kendal Coleman, who finished with a double-double, tallying 16 points and 13 rebounds.

LSU will travel to Brookshire Grocery Arenato take on Louisiana Tech at 6:00 p.m. CT Saturday. The matchup is scheduled to be televised on CBS Sports Network and will broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network affiliates.
