Devonte Graham

After letting Lonzo Ball go to the Bulls, the Pelicans looked to add more backcourt firepower to their roster Monday as NBA free agency opened.

Hours later, New Orleans secured the services of Hornets guard Devonte’ Graham.

ESPN reports the Pelicans will send its 2022 lottery-protected first-round pick to Charlotte after Graham, a restricted free agent, inks a four-year, $47 million contract.

New Orleans worked out a sign-and-trade earlier in the day, sending Lonzo Ball to Chicago in a sign-and-trade deal for two players and a second-round pick.

This past season, the 26-year old Graham averaged 14.8 points and 5.4 assists per game with a .375 rate from three-point range. The 6-foot-1 former Kansas Jayhawk is a three-year NBA veteran who posted over 18 points per game in 2019-20.
