Ouachita Christian-Southern Lab semifinal audio stream featured on The Hash It Out Show Game Of The Week

BATON ROUGE – The Hash It Out Show Game Of The Week will end the season with a bang with a Division IV Select State Semifinal matchup feature a pair of state powers. The No. 3 seeded Ouachita Christian Eagles will take on the No. 2 seeded Southern Lab Kittens in a state title game rematch from 2021.

Ouachita Christian (11-1) is coming off a 56-0 victory against No. 6 St. Mary’s after an outstanding performance with 420 total yards while holding St. Mary’s to negative-17 total yards. The Eagles out of District 2-1A have won seven state championships in school history and seek their 11th appearance in a state title game.

OCS will depend on running back Zach White, quarterback Luke Vidrine and wide receiver Tate Hamby to bring their firepower to a very fast-paced offense. Maddox King, Casey Shaw and Noah Lovelady headline the Eagles defense.

Southern Lab (10-1) is coming off an 35-0 victory against No. 10 Central Catholic after manaing 314 total yards and holding Central Catholic to seven total yards and compiling seven sacks. The Kittens, part of District 9-1A which has produced two semifinal teams this yea, have won seven state titles and made 12 appearances in state title games in school history.

The running trio of Armariyan Asberry, Douglas Thornton and Jerome Harris powers the Southern Lab offense. Quarterback Marlon Brown with wide receivers Keenan Butler and Denhim Hunt add on to a very dangerous attack. Jude Foster, Ashton Raymond, Chad Jones, and Dylan Day lead the Kittens defense.

This game marks the seventh meeting all-time between these two programs with the series tied up 3-3. Their last meeting in 2021 came at the Superdome where Southern Lab got a 38-14 victory to take the Class 1A state title. This is the first time Eagles and Kittens will meet in Baton Rouge.

This long awaited rematch is set for A.W. Mumford Stadium on Friday night. The survivor will take on the winner of No. 5 Riverside Academy and No. 1 Vermilion Catholic for a state championship.

The Hash It Out Show Game of The Week will start with Countdown to Kickoff at 6:20 p.m. and then kickoff at 7 on TSBN Sports. V.K. Jones, George Pepis, and Jarryd Boyd will have the call of the game.
