Hitting the century mark for the second consecutive game and the fifth time this season, Loyola closed out a three-game homestand with a third-straight win

NEW ORLEANS – For the second time in three days, the No. 3-ranked Loyola Wolf Pack men’s basketball team secured a dominant conference victory in The Den, defeating Brewton-Parker 114-69 on Saturday. After winning every game in this three-game homestand, the Wolf Pack (19-1, 8-1 SSAC) will have a road contest at Mobile next Thursday before returning home for five games starting February 5.

It was another wire-to-wire victory for the Wolf Pack, who jumped out to an 8-0 lead barely a minute after tipoff with an alley-oop from Zach Wrightsil to Myles Burns and back-to-back triples from Andrew Fava. Brewton-Parker did come back to cut the lead to just two points, but Loyola stretched their lead back out to double digits, 24-14, by the under-12 minute media timeout with a Burns steal-and-score.

After the early Barons run, the Wolf Pack steadily increased the advantage, amassing 59 points by halftime to lead 59-36. Burns and Wrightsil each put up 11 points in the first half, Fava and Terry Smith Jr. scored nine, while Brandon Davis had seven.

Davis found Fava wide open for a three right after the halftime break ended, and Fava would go on to lead the Pack with 10 points in the second half, finishing with a game-high 19. After Fava made four shots within the first five minutes of the period, jump shots started falling for the rest of the team as well. Milan Mejia followed up with three triples over the next few minutes, and Jalen Galloway connected on his two attempts from long range too. It was a three-point barrage in the second half, as the Wolf Pack shot 10-for-16 from beyond the arc, with Davis, Zach Muller, and Josh Leaney all sinking threes in the half.

Eddie Burgess and Luke Ladner joined the scoring late in the half as the Wolf Pack cruised to their third-straight victory, 114-69.
