Myles Brennan announces he will return to LSU for 2022
LSU head coach Brian Kelly has received a boost ahead his first season in charge of the Tigers.
Myles Brennan announced Thursday via social media that he was removing his name from the transfer portal to return to LSU. Si.com’s Ross Dellenger reports that Kelly called Brennan on Monday asking him to stay with the Tigers.
New #LSU coach Brian Kelly called Myles Brennan on Monday and asked him to remain in Baton Rouge. After two days of thought, the QB agreed.
Brennan's decision to return centered largely around Kelly's history of developing QBs & operating successful offenses.

The quarterback becomes the favorite to regain his starting job for his final season of eligibility in 2022. Max Johnson was LSU’s QB1 throughout the 2021 season but he has opted to transfer. Brennan had entered the portal in November.
Brennan missed the entire 2021 season following a non-football injury suffered late in the summer.
In 2020, the Long Beach, Miss. native completed 79-of-131 passes for 1,112 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions in three games. He was sidelined for the rest of that season after abdominal core surgery. Before that, the St. Stanislaus product served as Joe Burrow’s backup.
