MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the third straight game Louisiana Tech took an early lead over Memphis only this time the Lady Techsters weren’t able to hang on Sunday during the third and final contest of the weekend series at Tiger Softball Complex.

Memphis scored nine unanswered runs after falling behind Tech early as the Tigers salvaged the third and final game of the weekend series by a score of 9-1 in six innings. Tech won 7-6 and 10-6 on Saturday.

Tech (7-12) took an early 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Amanda Gonzalez that scored Tristin Court from third base in the top of the second inning. However, that would be the only offense Tech mustered on the day.

Memphis plated two runs in the second, two in the third, two in the fifth and three more in the sixth as Tech used three pitchers on the day.

Hannah Koenig got the start, worked 2.0 innings, allowing two runs on three walks and one hit. Audrey Pickett worked the next 3.0 innings, allowing four runs – three earned – on five hits and one walk. Bre Hernandez pitched the sixth inning, allowing the final three runs.

Kyle Neel (1-1), Caroline Easom (1-3), Court (1-3, run), Brooke Diaz (1-3), and Gonzalez (1-1, RBI) led Tech offensively.

The Lady Techsters return to action Wednesday, traveling to UL-Lafayette for a 6 p.m. contest.
