McNeese Softball Is headed to the Seattle Regional

LAKE CHARLES — McNeese softball is headed to the Seattle Region where they will be the No. 3 seed along with top seed and host Washington along with the No. 2 seed Northern Colorado and No. 4 seed Minnesota.

The Cowgirls and Golden Gophers will face off in the opening game of the region at 5:30 p.m. (CT), Friday, May 19 with the game being televised on ESPN+.

McNeese (44-14) is making its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance and third consecutive and will look to win its first regional tournament in program history.

Minnesota is making its 10th consecutive NCAA appearance after posting a 37-17 overall record and finished third in the Big Ten with a 17-6 record this season.

The Seattle Regional is paired with the Baton Rouge Regional hosted by No. 10 LSU. The winner of each will face off in the Super Regional round May 25-28 in a best-of-three series for a spot in the 2023 Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.

Tickets for the NCAA Washington Regional Softball Tournament in which McNeese will begin play this Friday, May 19 against Minnesota will go on sale Tuesday, May 16 at 11 a.m. (CT).
