Alexandria, La. – Coming off the most successful season and first NAIA Tournament appearance in program history, the LSUA women’s basketball team looks to get back to Billings, releasing a challenging 2019-20 season schedule.

“We’ve set up a really tough schedule for this season,” said LSUA head coach Bob Austin. “Six of our seven non-conference games are against teams that were in Montana for the national tournament with us a season ago, and we have two exhibitions against Division I teams, so we’ll be well challenged for conference play.”

The season opens on the road on October 28th against the Dillard Lady Bleu Devils, a tournament team from a season ago. Following an exhibition game against Louisiana Tech, the Generals head back to New Orleans for a date with fellow tournament team, Xavier.

LSUA comes home to open the home portion of the schedule with back-to-back games against NAIA Tournament teams, Loyola on November 16th and the rematch against Dillard three days later.

Back on the road, LSUA heads to New Orleans for a third time to take on SUNO, and then an exhibition against Southeastern Louisiana to round out the pre-conference schedule.

Red River Athletic Conference action starts on December 5th at Texas College and two days later at Jarvis Christian.

The conference home opener is on December 12th against RRAC basketball newcomer Texas A&M-Texarkana followed by a game against Wiley in The Fort two days later.

With the holiday break then upon them, the Generals play their final two non-conference games of the season, which is also two more games against NAIA Tournament teams from 2019 as LSUA heads out to play Wayland Baptist on the road before Christmas before coming back home for the rematch against Xavier to open up 2020 and close out the non-conference portion of the schedule.

Entering conference play for the remainder of the schedule, the Generals go back on the road for games against Huston-Tillotson and NAIA Fab Four qualifier, Our Lady of the Lake. The 2020 home slate starts on January 16th against rival LSU Shreveport.

The first half of conference play comes to a close on January 23rd and 25th with trips to Paul Quinn and Southwest. The back half of the RRAC schedule starts on January 30th at home in The Fort against Texas College and then February 1st against Jarvis Christian. The final two home weekends of the season are on February 13th and 15th against Huston-Tillotson and Our Lady of the Lake, respectively, and February 27th and 29th against Paul Quinn and Southwest, respectively.

The RRAC Tournament returns to Alexandria for the first time since the 2016-17 season when the 2020 version is played at the Rapides Parish Coliseum from March 5th to 7th. The NAIA National Championship Tournament returns to Rimrock Auto Arena in Billings, Montana from March 18th to March 24th, when a national champion will be crowned.
