LSU ranked 13th in preseason AP poll

As usual, the preseason Associated Press poll is closely aligned with the coaches poll. That means LSU is close to the same ranking in the AP release Monday that it was in the coaches’ vote, but not precisely.

The Tigers are 13th in the AP, or the same position they ended the 2016 season after defeating Louisville in the Citrus Bowl. LSU is 12th in the coaches poll.
