Delgado dropped a 3-2 decision to LSU-Eunice Saturday in the first game of the weekend series at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

Jacob Singletary singled in the fourth before scoring on a two-run homer by Brock Slaton to give the host Dolphins the 2-0 lead.

Delgado stayed on top until the sixth when LSU-Eunice’s Dawson Willis led off the frame with a single and advanced on a walk by Alex Saunier. Zach Thomas’ double plated the run before another RBI single plated Thomas and Saunier to give the Bengals the 3-2 lead.

The Dolphins threated by leaving two base runners stranded in the sixth and a two out double by Cade Pregeant in the seventh before the Bengals secured the 3-2 win.

Degado starter Carson Lore suffered the loss, surrendering all three runs despite one walk and eight strikeouts.

Game 2 was postponed by rain, forcing the teams to meet in a doubleheader ay 1 p.m. Sunday at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium to round out Delgado’s regular season schedule.
